The clients bought an existing property which they demolished with the intention of building a new home. The new home design incorporates five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large open plan living and dining space, leading into a large contemporary kitchen. The house will be constructed using a highly insulated cross laminated timber frame structure which will result in a very low energy house, both in terms of the energy required to heat it and the embodied energy of the building materials used in the build. Photo voltaic panels on the roof together with a solar hot water system and full heat recovery will aim to reduce the buildings impact on the environment.
